This is a utility that helps export data from DB2 databases to Excel files.
Withdata DB2ToExcel is a tool to export DB2 data to Excel file. Quite often you tend to do that for some quick analysis on a small set of data. Configuration is done visually. Needs just a few clicks. A progress bar shows how the transfer is happening and shows you the expected time left to complete the operation. The tool allows saving of session parameters that can be reused. Data from tables, or harvested through queries can be exported. You can actually do both at one time too. It is compatible with both the 2007 and the earlier versions. All the data files can be exported at a time. Multiple data can be accommodated in one Excel workbook in multiple sheets.
All data types including the BLOB and CLOB are supported. The transfer process can be completely automated and be unattended through the command line interface. You have to specify the database server address and user id as well as password at the starting time. The user interface is straightforward and intuitive. You select a schema and then selected the tables listed from the schema. Select all and select none makes the process simple when all the tables are involved. Choices are available if you want to export BLOB and/or CLOB data. If Unicode encoding is to be used and the format of output file (XLS or XLSX) are selected. Output type in terms of 1 table to 1 file or 1 table per excel sheet and an output file name are the other necessary choices to be made. Records to be written per sheet also can be specified. Overall quite a handy and easy tool, but you need only if you are working in the DB2 environment.
